Binnen het Utrecht Science Park is het mijn rol om bedrijvigheid te verbinden met onderzoeksinfrastructuur en -diensten, met name op het gebied van infectieziekten en immuun-gerelateerde aandoeningen. Denk aan bijvoorbeeld nieuwe vaccin of antivirale ontwikkelingen. Een van de grootste uitdagingen hierbij is het koppelen van markt gedreven vraagstukken aan innovatieve kennis, diensten en producten die op het Utrecht Science Park aanwezig zijn.
Dit is wat mij inspireert: het realiseren van maatschappelijke impact met wetenschappelijk onderzoek. Hiervoor is kennis nodig over de werk- en denkwijze van verschillende actoren die bij dit ingewikkelde proces betrokken zijn. In 2013 ben ik op dit onderwerp gepromoveerd (Publicatie: Innovation Paradox in Vaccine Target Selection). Vervolgens heb ik werkervaring opgedaan bij bedrijven, overheid en in het onderwijs.

Het faciliteren en uitvoeren van toegepast onderzoek is mijn passie. Dit is wat mij elke dag inspireert en waardoor ik met plezier naar mijn werk ga.
